Website and policy updates

Hello! I just finished rolling out some changes to our site:
- SSL encryption has been enabled for the entire site.
- We have an IRC channel on Freenode, which can be visited over the web.
In addition, on the user account page some of our service policies are starting to become more visible:
- You can now see a rough count of how much traffic has been transferred for each kite. This is a counter which started counting last night some-time. We are unsure of when, if ever, to reset it. :-)
- The concept of bandwidth quota is now visible - but all current users have loads of quota and if you are an early adopter, we will give you more if you begin to run out. Anyway, at the moment, nothing bad happens if you run out of quota, it's just a number. But that will change...
- There is no longer a limit on how many CNAME or sub-domain (foo.USER.pagekite.me) kites you can create, only the number of top-level kites per user is restricted.
- The number of top-level names (USER.pagekite.me) available to each user has been lowered.
- The UI for new kite creation now defaults to sub-domains, even if you have top-level names left.
We hope these changes strike the right balance between building a useful service and protecting our limited resources. As always, we would love to hear what you think!
The IRC channel is waiting...
The Blog
Welcome to the PageKite blog!
Here we write about anything and everything to do with running the service, building a company, open-source, privacy online... you name it.
But mostly it's about PageKite.
