the fast, reliable localhost tunneling solution

Pagekite.py 0.4.2 released

By Bjarni Rúnar 2011-05-13, 21:58

The 2nd release of pagekite.py 0.4 is available.

Note: The 0.4 releases are still experimental. They are of course awesome, but we do not consider them stable.

The highlight of this release is a revamped command-line shortcut syntax. Now, you can do things like this:

$ pagekite-0.4.py localhost:80 http://NAME.pagekite.me/
$ pagekite-0.4.py *.html http://NAME.pagekite.me:8080/
$ pagekite-0.4.py folder1 folder2 http://NAME.pagekite.me:3000/

... and each of those will do pretty much what you would expect that command to do. The only thing really missing for launching entire websites from the command-line, is a pretty index page listing which resources are available. This is planned for the next release.

We are also researching and experimenting with ways to handle access control, suggestions are welcome.

Give it a try!

(Special thanks to Már and Michiel for their input on the command-line usability issues we had in v0.4.1).
