Planned upgrades this weekend

By Bjarni RĂșnar 2011-08-18, 10:07

This weekend (2011-08-20 and 2011-08-21) the PageKite front-end servers will all be upgraded to version 0.4.

We do not expect this to cause any interruption of service (we have already successfully upgraded our internal test systems), but there is always a chance that things may go wrong.

If your kites or this web-site behave oddly on Saturday or Sunday, this is the most likely explanation. More importantly, if your kites behave oddly after the weekend, it may be that you are experiencing compatibility problems between your version of PageKite and the new 0.4 servers. If you suspect this may be happening to you, it would probably be worth upgrading to 0.4 yourself.

We will be on the IRC channel during and after the upgrades, please feel free to drop in and ask questions.

Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding!

This is now done. As far as we know, it all went relatively smoothly. Please let us know if you've observed differently!

Welcome to the PageKite blog!

Here we write about anything and everything to do with running the service, building a company, open-source, privacy online... you name it.

But mostly it's about PageKite.
