The latest version of pagekite.py
, version 0.5.0, has been released and is available for immediate download.
(Update: Some minor bugfixes have brought us to 0.5.1, with a similarly minor 0.5.2 release expected any day now. No need to upgrade unless you are experiencing problems.)
This release has been a long time in the making and offers some major important updates:
Of these, the security updates are the most important, and the most likely to cause surprises for older users of the program - access to some sensitive URL resources which used to be unrestricted, is now blocked by default. We are still reviewing the impact this has on automatically updated PageKite installations and will therefore not roll out updated .deb and .rpm packages until after the weekend.
Your opinions and feedback matter, so feel free to let us know what you think.
We are working on some improved documentation and a screen-cast to showcase some of the new features of PageKite 0.5, which we hope to release next week as well. So stay tuned!
Welcome to the PageKite blog!
Here we write about anything and everything to do with running the service, building a company, open-source, privacy online... you name it.
But mostly it's about PageKite.
